This is it! After several months of gathering your input and feedback, the Parks Board is prepared to vote on the conceptual master plan of the redesigned Patriot’s Square on Thursday, February 22. This vote will dictate the future of Patriot’s Square and an integrated park within CityScape. Your support during this process has been invaluable and very encouraging and we need you to turn out in full support for this final meeting.

Here’s what you can do to make sure this plan moves forward:

1) Attend the Parks Board meeting on February 22 and speak in favor of the new park master plan OR submit a comment card if you aren’t comfortable speaking;

2) Send an email to the City Council and Parks Department stating you support the vision for the new park master plan;

3) Pass this email on to a friend and ask them to do the same.

After the last public input session, the Arizona Republic wrote: “There were a handful of residents who attended the public forum that spoke in favor of the plan, but they were greatly outnumbered by those who spoke in opposition.” We need a strong showing of supporters willing to stand up and speak in support of the new plan and a new vision for downtown Phoenix. If you don’t show your support at this meeting, all of your hard work and desire for an integrated and rejuvenated park at the heart of downtown Phoenix could be lost.

There will be a presentation on progress to date, presentation of the proposed conceptual master plan and a verbal public comment period. The Parks Board will vote to approve the conceptual master plan of the redesigned Patriot’s Square based on your input.
