Entries Sought for “African American Vibes of the City” Art Show
January 12, 2008 by Lyle Plocher commentThe Phoenix Parks and Recreation’s Center for the Arts announces the call for local African-American artists to submit their two and three dimensional works in all mediums, for the 10th annual juried exhibition “African Vibes of the City” Art Show that will take place Feb. 1 to 22, 2008. The opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 1.
The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department sponsors this exciting juried exhibition at the Center’s Visual Arts Gallery located at 214 E. Moreland, where art lovers can view some of the best African-American art in the city.
This exhibit is open to all African-American Arizona artists. To enter, artists 18 years of age and over can send up to10 slides or photographs of their most recent work (no glass mounts) completed in the past two years, a $20 non-refundable entry fee (check or money order made out to “The City of Phoenix”) and a self-addressed envelope to The Phoenix Center, 1202 N Third St., Phoenix, AZ 85004. The entry deadline is 5 p.m. on Jan. 18.
