Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver and Super Bowl X Most Valuable Player Lynn Swann will lead a cast of ex-football players who are more comfortable rolling a ball than swinging a golf club.

Swann expects a competitive-but-friendly atmosphere among NFL greats such as Dick Butkis, Ted Hendricks, Harry Carson and others.

"Athletes are competitive. There will be some guys talking trash," said Swann, who said he regularly bowls and scored a high game of 190.

Swann predicts the bravado will soon give way to humility among athletes who are rolling gutter balls. Some will hand over their games to children attending the event, looking as an excuse to explain away a poor score.

"I will not be among those," Swann said.

The event takes place at 9PM on Thursday, January 31st at AMF Christown Lanes.
