It’s a cross-country road trip and you’re invited, Phoenix.

CES Bound is an idea generated from Griffin Technology for its participation in the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show (hence the “CES”) in Las Vegas. The CES Expo runs from January 7-10, and is the largest consumer trade show on the planet. Griffin Technology, a company based out of Nashville, focuses on the manufacturing of products for iPods and personal computing needs.

A group of Griffin employees completely restored a 1972 Volkswagen Minibus and are driving it 2,500 miles from Nashville to Vegas, stopping along the way to greet fans and promote their organization. Five Griffin employees are making the journey with the bus, blogging about their adventure along the way.

CES Bound will be at George & Dragon pub in Phoenix on Saturday, January 2 for a lovely little meet-up full of beer, free swag and good old nerdy conversation. Promotional items and other goodies from Griffin and sponsors Threadless and Brightkite will be handed out.

“We’re excited to hit the road to CES and meet Griffin fans across the country,” says Dave Delaney, Griffin’s Social Media Coordinator, in a statement released by the company. “The bus is a great way to put a personal face on our real-time web community and make some new friends along the way. It’s going to be fantastic!”

The CES Bound bus left Nashville on December 30 and will park in Las Vegas at the CES show floor on January 4.
