Downtown Phoenix is the recipient of a fine new eatery, the Bread Fruit, at 108 E Pierce, just a block or so North of the ASU Downtown Campus. Quaint, friendly looking place that appears to offer a tasty lineup. I have not had the pleasure of eating there yet but hope to soon. If you have, let us know about your experience and recommendations.

The Breadfruit is off to a good start. The dishes I have enjoyed most include the jerk (either shrimp or chicken), the escovitch fish, and the curried vegetable patties. The only letdown was the Ital soup, which had nice crisp vegetables but seemed underflavored. The restaurant does not have a liquor license yet, but the Jamaican sodas are good. The ginger beer has a real spicy kick. Service is personable. This is definitely the type of place we need Downtown.
Ya Mon....
Da Breadfruit is where it's at..patties, festivals, jerk & stew...it's all good ya hear?
