Urban Form Project - Public Information Meeting
February 19, 2008 by Lyle Plocher commentIf you own property between 7th St & 7th Ave, from Buckeye to McDowell, you will want to attend one of the upcoming Public Meetings to be be held during February and March. The Urban Form Project is an extensive study that has been taking place over the last 18 months which will ultimately result in re-zoning parts of the area described above. The Form Based Code, will change things like shading requirements for new Real Estate Projects/buildings, modify the types of uses allowed in certain neigbhorhoods to foster more live/work uses as well as relax parking requirements for businesses operating from existing older buildings, creating a more interesting downtown. These are just a few of the highlights of the zoning changes ahead. The Phoenix Planning Department will be doing presentations on their proposed changes, and providing time for the public's feedback. The first Meeting will be at 4PM, February 20th at City Hall, Assembly Rooms B & C, 200 W Washington.
