Chris Hardy, a local fellow, has merged folk, or self-taught, art techniques with a pre-occupation with celebrity and cultural, or historic icons and created a style which he has labeled “Suburban-Folk”.  

His style; with its emphasis on line drawing, bold fields of color, and compositions that require the viewers’ active participation, is quickly identifiable, visually appealing, and surprisingly unique.
