Community Continues Support for Downtown Project
June 19, 2007 by cityscape commentInterest in CityScape remains high among Valley residents. A recent post at www.downtownPHXrising.org is a great example of the excitement this project is bringing to the Valley, and not just from residents who already live in or near downtown.
"I have lived in N. Scottsdale for over 15 years and can't wait until I move into my condo in downtown Phoenix. We, the city of Phoenix, NEED CityScape and more projects like it." Posted by M. Grant.
A vibrant, reinvigorated downtown is important to all the communities that are part of the Valley. It provides jobs, education, entertainment, culture, density and other urban characteristics that can only be found in a city's downtown. People from across the Valley are looking for - and wanting - the opportunity to have a downtown like Denver, San Diego, Portland and other Western cities.
Additionally, as this post points out, there is a desire to for residents of the Valley to live in an urban setting. People are looking back towards the core of the city for a sense of community, shorter travel times, entertainment and activity. CityScape and the other planned developments downtown are providing the city and its residents with this opportunity.
